The family chooses an edition and sends an invitation. Omoide explains how recording and sharing work, asks for permission, and begins only when the storyteller is comfortable.

The storyteller decides what becomes family history.
A gift does not transfer ownership of another person’s words. The storyteller can skip a question, say “Don’t ask me this,” keep a story private, change what is shared, or stop.
Family members receive only the stories the storyteller chooses to share. Full conversations remain visible only to the storyteller.
