Accessibility is part of the product
Omoide is being designed for families across ages, abilities, devices, and comfort levels with technology. The goal is excellent defaults for everyone rather than a separate or patronizing mode.
Standards
The public buyer-facing website is designed toward WCAG 2.2 AA. Storyteller-facing surfaces have a higher internal bar: 18px body text, large primary controls, at least 7:1 contrast for critical text, and complete reflow at 200% zoom.
What is built in
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, forms, disclosures, and focus states.
- Semantic headings, labels, status messages, and descriptive image text.
- Responsive layouts that preserve reading order and do not require horizontal scrolling.
- Reduced-motion support and no meaning conveyed by color alone.
- Plain-language errors that offer a human path when software is not enough.
Audio and media
Conversation excerpts will include a transcript alternative. Decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology, while product and documentary photographs receive descriptions that explain their purpose.
Report a barrier
